The All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Mohammed Buhari yesterday visited former President, Alhaji Aliyu Shehu Shagari in Sokoto who recently celebrated his 90th birthday.

He was thereafter led to Shagari’s residence for the visit.
In his brief remark, Buhari tendered his unreserved apology for coming at the later time. “I have personally sent a letter to you informing you that I was in London and hope the letter was deliver to you. I arrived yesterday from United Kingdom and this morning I proceeded to Sokoto to felicitate with you on your 90th birthday,” Buhari explained. Buhari prayed for God’s continuous guidance and protection for the former president; while also wishing him good health in the years ahead.
Buhari also held a closed-door meeting with the elder-statesman’s wives in company of Governor Wamakko before he departed the state.
In his response, Shagari expressed appreciation for the visit. He also wished the APC candidate well in all his desires.
