The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, has again declined the invitation of another presidential debate. Director of Strategy, Dele Alake Monday said that the party's candidate would not attend the presidential debate organised by Channels Television, Arise TV and NPAN.
The boycott fuel suspicion from Nigerians that Gen Buhari is hiding his lack of intellectual capacity in regards to issues, of national governance, economy, foreign policy, security, education and development.
Alake, accused some Nigerian media organisations of being compromised. He said that he could not vouch for the independence of some of the organisers of the debate.
Dr Yemisi Faleti, of the National Endowment for Democracy, NED, asked " Is there a problem of inability to constructively engage contemporary national issues in a live television and radio debate?,
. If you can't debate with the so-called 'clueless' GEJ, how do you intend to tackle the intellectually-tasking and complex demands of running a democratic country?
If he suspects any form of connivance, he should suggest that a more trusted body handle the debates. APC and co have been asking the PDP to forget the certificate issue and face real matters. Now the time to face real matters is upon us and they're looking for an escape route.
2015 Election Will Be "Yakin Badar" ( War Between Muslims and Infidels) - Buhari in Yola.
A chieftain of APC and Pa Muhammadu Buhari supporter, Mallam Abdulrahaman Abba Jimeta while anchoring the Buhari
presidential campaign rally in Yola yesterday made inciting.
Buhari's right hand man said the "2015 general election will be "yakin Badar" ( a war between Muslims and infidels)"
Mallam Abdulrahaman Abba Jimeta openly supported stoning which he termed "Jifar shaitan" and Buhari who approved the message, as they are similar to his principal and religious ideas laughed on.
For a former Commissioner of Higher education, a former
information commissioner, a former chief of staff to a governor, such unguarded utterances should not have emanated from him.
If the APC, the Nigerian version of the Muslim brotherhood party stands for change, then People like this and Buhari must be curtailed.
Let's save our Adamawa but not through bitterness that will enhance violence thus taking us headlong to plunge to a dangerous precipice!!!!
